Full color hiqh quality reproduction of an original oil painting of Gichin Funakoshi, founding father of Shotokan Ryu Japanese Karate-Do. The original oil painting from which this print was reproduced from was very well liked by the late Japan Karate Association (JKA) chief instructor Masatoshi Nakayama - a direct student of Gichin Funakoshi and author of the Karate Kata, Best Karate series, and Dynamic Karate, books. For a while, the original oil painting was displayed at the original headquarters of the Japan Karate Association in Tokyo Japan as well as many other prominent Karate Dojo and events around Japan and Okinawa. Years ago, the original oil painting was displayed at the grave site of Gichin Funakoshi on the anniversary of his death each year. The painting has been displayed at several Dojo and Karate events in the United States where it originated and currently rests. A reproduction of this one of a kind tribute to the Shotokan Karate Master is now available to you for a limited time. This high quality 11 x 14 print is ready for framing and proud display at any traditional Karate Dojo and / or event. It is ideal and appropriate for display at the head of the Dojo, an office or any other respectful location. An excellent gift for a any Dojo, rank promotion, award, achievement, or occasion.
