The red sai are a great set for beginners. The weight is enough to use them properly, but not enough to injure yourself if they are accidentally dropped. They have no plastic smell, they're straight and retain their shape well, unlike the rubber sai which I exchanged for these. The return and exchange was hassle free and quick.
