| This high quality iaito is an excellent practice sword with an unedged steel blade that is correctly weighted and balanced to prepare students for advanced work using live blades. This lightweight sword features a bo-hi in the blade to further reduce blade weight and produce audible feedback when practice strokes are made correctly. The 28 1/2 inch blade has a genuine wave hamon. The 10 5/8 inch handle features genuine rayskin with tightly woven cotton wrap, a long tang, and double mekugi for security. The fuchi and kashira feature a family emblem motif. The authentic iron tsuba features a wave design that represents museum-preserved originals and compliments the hamon and brass habaki, while the menuki represent the traditional Japanese Sakura (cherry blossom) flower. The wooden ebony pebble-finished scabbard features a longer retaining cord. Measures 39 1/2 inches overall. |
