1 of 5 Updated Review October 25, 2012
Reviewer: Justin Ballen from Ohio
Here's a more up to date review.

After using these sticks to train for two weeks, the paint has almost completely come off, and the sticks have massive indentations everywhere.  It seems that every single strike, regardless of how powerful, puts a dent in these feather-soft sticks. This does NOT happen with genuine rattan.  DO NOT buy these.  They look cool, sure, but they are not made of rattan, they feel more like cheap wood.  The most annoying thing about these sticks is the fact that the paint comes off, leaving ugly red marks on whatever stick your sparring partner is using.

Avoid these like the plague.

Note from Sakura: These items are most certainly made of rattan. There are of course many grades of rattan. You are welcome to send them back for inspection.

2 of 5 Good for training, but not much else... October 25, 2012
Reviewer: Justin Ballen from Dayton, OH United States
These sticks are not as dense as the rattan sticks I've trained with in the past, and to be quite honest, I don't even think they're made of real rattan.  They bend with almost no effort, and feel super light.   It is for this reason that I would recommend buying these for training ONLY.  Do not use these in combat, as the lack of weight and extreme flexibility result in a comparatively soft blow.

If I had to go back and do it again, I wouldn't buy these.  I'd reconsider if the price was $10 per stick, as that's all they're worth really.

Also, take not that if you DO buy these sticks, don't train with sticks of a different color, as the paint on these comes off very easily.
